Hovhannes Avoyan, CEO of Picsart, published this piece in Inc. Magazine that provides some research-backed tips on successfully working acync.
Based on a survey of 2,000 working adults from across the US, Avovan found that 84% of those surveyed would prefer to work for a company that can operate asynchronously.
This is important because the talent market is so competitive and people are burned out from years of Zoom meetings.
Avoyan lays out five pro tips based on his own experience. His tips are:
- Working on your own time doesn't mean working all the time
- Prune meetings
- Encourage individuals to enact boundaries
- Use a culturally informed approach
- Establish a culture of personal accountability
The cultural aspect of time is important as teams strive to become more diverse and spread across geographies. Avoyan notes that most calendar software has default holidays that reflect American culture.
