Quatalog, a connected work software company and Gitlab a DevOps solution provider partnered on a research report called Killing Time at Work.
The research surveyed 1,000 people in the US and another 1,000 in the UK to get a better idea of the challenges faced by modern knowledge workers.
The report thrust the idea of digital presenteeism into the spotlight claiming that employees spend an extra hour online a day to show colleagues that they are actually working. The report also boldly claims that “time at work is dead. We just don’t know it yet.”
As strong proponents of asynchronous work, the reports digs into technological challenges, claiming that work technology is actually broken and creating workplaces where employees are facing constant distractions, and have problems switching off.
